History

  • The Sint-Antonius van Paduakerk is a Roman Catholic church in Millingen aan de Rijn in the Dutch province of Gelderland.
  • The church was built in 1913-1914. Architect Wolter te Riele designed a three-aisled cruciform church in neo-Gothic style.

During artillery bombardments in 1945, the church suffered heavy damage. After the war, the church was restored, but the tower was rebuilt on a different basis and at a lower level.

  1. The Sint-Antonius van Paduakerk is a national monument, among other things, due to its ensemble value with parsonage, caretaker's house, cemetery, and the Sacred Heart statue (1922) by Jan Custers.
