The Petrus en Pauluskerk
The church name "Petrus en Pauluskerk" is a Catholic church located at J.F. Kennedyplein 9 in the town of Ulft, Netherlands.
De Petrus en Pauluskerk is een rooms-katholieke kerk in de Nederlandse plaats Ulft.
- The church was built from 1957 to 1959 according to the design of Antonius Vosman.
- Since the previous church from 1864 by Pierre Cuypers was deemed too small, a search for a suitable location for a new church began in 1949.
- Eventually, it was decided to build the new church next to the old church.
- On August 30, 1959, the new church was consecrated and subsequently the old church was demolished.
- To make the church more visible, it was decided to demolish five retail buildings. As a result, the current church square emerged at the front of the church.
The church is set up as a three-aisled cross basilica. At the front, the church has a broad brick tower. The priest's choir has a half-round extension. Inside, the church has cross vaults.
