The Petrus en Pauluskerk

The church name "Petrus en Pauluskerk" is a Catholic church located at J.F. Kennedyplein 9 in the town of Ulft, Netherlands.

De Petrus en Pauluskerk is een rooms-katholieke kerk in de Nederlandse plaats Ulft.

  • The church was built from 1957 to 1959 according to the design of Antonius Vosman.
  • Since the previous church from 1864 by Pierre Cuypers was deemed too small, a search for a suitable location for a new church began in 1949.
  1. Eventually, it was decided to build the new church next to the old church.
  2. On August 30, 1959, the new church was consecrated and subsequently the old church was demolished.
  3. To make the church more visible, it was decided to demolish five retail buildings. As a result, the current church square emerged at the front of the church.

The church is set up as a three-aisled cross basilica. At the front, the church has a broad brick tower. The priest's choir has a half-round extension. Inside, the church has cross vaults.
