The Grote Kerk (Great Church) is a Protestant church located in the heart of Hilversum, a city in the province of North Holland.

The church has a rich history dating back to 1560 when it was built as a Catholic church. After the Dutch Revolt, the church became Protestant and has remained so ever since.

History of the Church

The first church building was destroyed by fire in 1629. In 1766, the church and tower were once again damaged by fire and restored. After another fire in 1971, the church was completely restored and reopened for use in December 1977.
