The Sint-Lambertuskerk

The Sint-Lambertuskerk is located at St.-Lambertusstraat 53, 5266 AD Cromvoirt, Netherlands. This church was built in 1888 and features a neogotical design by architect Carl Weber. The current building is a three-aisled cruciform basilica with a four-sided turret. The tower was added separately in 1891 to prevent subsidence. Unfortunately, the tower was blown up by the Germans in 1944 and after the war, it was only restored to its original height and topped with a gabled roof.

The interior of the church features beautiful masonry work that has been partially polychromed in some areas. The church is surrounded by the pastorie, also designed by Carl Weber, which dates back to 1887. On the cemetery grounds, one can find several cast iron crosses. These monuments, including the former town hall, form a charming ensemble.

The patron saint of the church is Lambertus, who is also featured in the coat of arms of the former municipality of Cromvoirt. The Cromvoortse wapen is still visible on one of the college seats in the Vughtse raadszaal.

The Sint-Lambertusparochie of Cromvoirt has existed since 1717. As of 2003, the church falls under the responsibility of the Edith Stein parish in Vught.
