Sint-Gertrudiskerk (St. Gertrude's Church)

Location: Kerkstraat 20, 6026 RV Maarheeze, Netherlands

This Catholic church is situated in the town of Maarheeze, North Brabant province, in the southern part of the Netherlands.

  • The church has a rich history, with its predecessor being a late Gothic building from around 1450 featuring a later tower built in 1772 designed by Hendrik Verhees and constructed by local community efforts.
  • However, this original church was demolished in 1911 after a new church was built on an adjacent site.

The current Sint-Gertrudiskerk building is a three-aisled brick church in neo-Roman style, designed by Lambert de Vries with inspiration from Caspar Franssen's Einighausen Church.

The facade of the church is flanked by two almost identical towers characterized by top gables, with another top gable located between them.

  1. The Sint-Gertrudiskerk serves as the parish church for Maarheeze
  2. Situated at Kerkstraat 22
