Sint-Willibrorduskerk
Sint-Willibrorduskerk (St. Willibrord's Church) is located at Polderzicht 2, 4847 RT Teteringen, Netherlands, in the province of North Brabant.
The church was named after Saint Willibrord, an Anglo-Saxon missionary who converted the Frisians and other Germanic tribes to Christianity.
- The current Sint-Willibrorduskerk was designed by Jacques van Groenendael and completed on September 26, 1927.
- It is a brick Christian church with Neobyzantine features and some Art Deco elements, such as the cross on the tower and the spurs.
- Although it appears to be a cruciform church, its interior has a more centralizing space resembling a large hall church.
- The exterior of the church is dominated by a brick dome, which is less prominent from the outside.
- The church features rose windows in the facade and side chapels.
- Its interior includes stations of the cross created by G. van Geffen between 1929 and 1943.
- There are also glass-in-lead windows by Joep Nicolas and Jan Willemen, as well as a statue of Saint Ambrosius.
- A stone baptismal font from the former barn church dates back to 1787.
- Two paintings hang in the church: "The Resurrection of Christ" by W. Schaeken (1823) and a painting of the Holy Family from the second half of the 17th century.
A notable feature of the church is its organ, built by Jean Joseph Delahaye in 1823. This organ is a national monument and unique in the Netherlands.
