About the Building
De Sint-Lambertuskerk is the Roman-Catholic church of Vorstenbosch. The building dates back to 1932 and was designed by Hendrik Christiaan van de Leur.
- A so-called christocentrische kerk with a broad nave and narrow side aisles
- A rich decoration has been applied using multi-colored tiles and ribbed vaults, reminiscent of the brick architecture of Dom Bellot, who was Van de Leur's teacher
The interior features elements of expressionism and art deco style.
- In the choir of the church are five relief panels that originated from the pulpit which was transferred to Vorstenbosch in 1858 from Erp. They depict the four evangelists and the Redeemer
- Sculpures representing saints with their attributes, such as Saint Isidorus with a spade, Saint Appolonia with a dental forceps, Saint Catherine of Siena with a cup, and so on
- A Maria with Child Jesus from 1955, created by H. Suiskens in the Mariakapel
In the priest's choir hangs a triptych depicting the Temptation of St Anthony, given on loan by the St Anthony Guild.
The organ, originating from the Waterstaatskerk, dates back to 1880 and was built by Adrianus Kuijte from Oss. It has been restored from 1992-1994.
Both the church and the organ within it are classified as national monuments The Sint-Lambertuskerk is a vibrant community hub, hosting various events throughout the year, including concerts, lectures, and cultural festivals.
