The Sint-Petrus Canisiuskerk

The Sint-Petrus Canisiuskerk is a church building located in Puth, Netherlands, within the Dutch Zuid-Limburg municipality of Beekdaelen.

Situated along the main street through the village, the Kerkweg, which connects Geleen to Schinnen. The church is constructed from brick and features a cruciform design consisting of a tower with a tent-shaped roof, built perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, a nave, a transept, and a tripartite closed choir.

The building is characterized by a zakelijk-expressionistische style, which translates to a blend of classical and expressionist architectural elements.

Internally, the church boasts a ribbed vaulted ceiling.

Dedication and Designation

• The edifice is dedicated to St. Peter Canisius.
• In April 2023, the parish church along with its associated parsonage was designated as a municipal monument by the municipality of Beekdaelen.
