The Petrakerk

The Petrakerk is a church located in Hendrik Ido Ambacht, Netherlands. The Petrakerk was built in the 13th century as a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Peter, one of Jesus' twelve apostles. Over the centuries, the church has undergone several renovations and restorations.

The church is a brick Gothic-style building with a rectangular shape and a slightly pointed roof. Its exterior walls are adorned with buttresses, which provide additional support against external forces like wind and earthquakes. The entrance is flanked by two towers, each topped with a slender spire.

The church's interior features a large nave with rows of wooden pews, a high altar, and several side chapels.

• A monument dedicated to Saint Peter, featuring a life-sized statue of the apostle.
• A beautiful Baroque-style organ, built in the 18th century. Its intricate carvings and ornate details make it a striking feature.

The church is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm (April to October) and from 11 am to 3 pm (November to March). Guided tours are available upon request.
