The Sint-Bonifatius Church

The Sint-Bonifatius, a Catholic church located at the Alcorplein 13-A in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The current building dates back to 1932, but there was already a church on this site since 1923. During World War II, the original church was destroyed by bombing, and the current one was built shortly after.

The modernist-style church was designed by architect Henri Worst and features a striking, asymmetrical design with a prominent bell tower. The church is named after Saint Boniface (675-754), a German missionary who played a significant role in the Christianization of Germany and the Netherlands.

The interior of the church is characterized by its simple, modernist design, featuring a large wooden cross and stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the Bible.

  • The church serves as a spiritual hub for the local community in Rotterdam, hosting various liturgical celebrations, events, and charitable activities throughout the year.

A visit to the Sint-Bonifatius Church is definitely worth considering if you're ever in Rotterdam.
