Het Lichtbaken

Located at Piet Heinplein 13, 2712 KC Zoetermeer, Netherlands.

Het Lichtbaken was built in the early 20th century as a replacement for an earlier church that had stood on the same site. The new church was designed by architect G.F. Van Velden and constructed between 1903 and 1905.

• A striking example of Neo-Renaissance architecture, Het Lichtbaken features a tall, slender spire and a rectangular nave with a flat roof.
• The exterior walls are made of red brick and feature ornate stone carvings and decorations.

The interior of the church features:

1. a large wooden ceiling
2. stained glass windows, which were designed by artist Carel Visser
3. an ornate altar
4. a striking organ loft
5. a unique pulpit made of marble
