About De Nieuwe Kerk

De Nieuwe Kerk is an original Dutch Reformed church building located at Leusderweg 110 in Amersfoort. Currently, it serves as a Protestant Church of the Netherlands (PKN) church.

  1. The church was put into use in 1924.
  2. The stone building was designed by the architects Gijs van Hoogevest and H.A. Pothoven from Amersfoort.

The dividing arch inside the church, which separates the space with a monumental pulpit with soundboard and reading desk from the church hall, slightly resembles a Roman Catholic church building. The current organ was built in 1977 by the firm Flentrop.

A striking solid square tower under a tent roof is fixed to the church, equipped with clockwork and bell openings.
