- The church is dedicated to John the Baptist and is situated at the Kerkring. It stands on a churchyard terrain with vate (drinking trough for livestock) in the center of the village, which has arisen on a terpachtige height.
- The nave has three bays with buttresses, two doors on the north and south sides, and a round window above each door. The nave dates back to the 15th century.
- The three-sided chancel closure is from the 16th century, and the original choir was straight-ended. The tower is 33 meters high and is believed to have originated around 1350. It is equipped with large buttresses and five spire-nosed and bell-gabled guiding elements.
Over time, the tower has shifted to the west side. From 1590 to 1859, the north choir was used as a school. Both the tower and the church have national monument status. In 1955, the tower and the church were restored. From 1964 to 1968, the church underwent restoration, with the chancel and nave being brought together as they were in the 19th century. In 2015, the stones and masonry of the tower were attended to.
